Coastal Engineering Support for Shoreline Stairs Installation

PSG Ocean was retained by a private owner to support an application to the District of West Vancouver for the installation of shoreline access stairs, replacing a derelict tram system.

PSG Ocean was retained by a private owner to support an application to the District of West Vancouver for the installation of stairs providing safe shoreline access, replacing a derelict tram system.

The scope of work included:

  • Conducting a site visit to assess coastal conditions and related hazards
  • Preparing a technical letter outlining how the proposed stairs would reduce residents’ exposure to coastal hazards

The letter was submitted to the District’s Director of Planning and contributed to expediting the municipal approval process. The stairs are currently under construction.
